Elevating a forgotten heritage property into an exceptional luxury residence
This project transformed a derelict former social housing property into a heritage-respecting luxury residence in one of Sydney’s oldest suburbs.
Preserving the property’s historic character while elevating it to modern luxury standards was central to the brief.
Key works included:
Conservation and repair of walls, floors, ceilings, and joinery.
Reinstatement of slate roof, dormer windows, carriageway, and balconies.
New kitchen, bathroom, and laundry fitouts.
Landscaping and drainage upgrades to protect the stone structure.
Outcome:
The residence was restored from disrepair to a landmark home, balancing heritage authenticity with modern living. This project was awarded the 2023 Master Builders Association of NSW “Excellence in Housing” award.
